Lords abolish the UK blasphemy laws.
Brilliant, long overdue, perhaps the faithful are waking up to their own stupidity?
whatever the reason it's fantastic news.
It always was a preposterous notion.
How could it ever have been right to prosecute someone for insulting something that you cannot prove even exists?
So now, if one chose to, one could legally say:-
Jesus was nothing more than a hippy-wannabe faith-healer with a gift for the manipulation of the naiive's belief in a saviour.
Or
Mohamed was nothing more than an shonky caravan trader with a gift for the maipulation of the naiive's belief in a saviour.
Or
God? Don't be preposterous!
Of course it won't stop any of the religious idiots putting an end to your life but at least they couldn't claim blasphemy as the reason!
Well that's a comfort then!
